Our Growth Story
The founding team of Sunvault has experience installing over a Gigawatt of solar in some of the largest plants around the world on six out of the seven continents. The idea of creating Sunvault was born in 2018, when our CEO decided to get solar for his own home. The experience was split between large companies that were too expensive and with customer-facing reps with little to no knowledge of solar and smaller companies that were not reliable and with suspect quality. He heard similar experiences from several friends and acquaintances who, as industry outsiders, seemed completely lost. There was a clear void and hence the opportunity for a company that offered a custom solution for the home, valued quality and customer experience, and was passionate about communicating with and educating the homeowners. Inspired to bring this change to the industry, we founded Sunvault. In the last five years, Sunvault has made a name for itself with hundreds of happy customers, who we call the ‘Sunvault Family’. We’ve also gone about listening to and helping solve our customers' unique problems which often were not solely related to solar. As a result, Sunvault now offers multiple additional services to the homeowner outside of solar that our customers strongly recommend us for.

FAQs
Do I need to replace my roof before installing solar?
Solar energy systems can last for 25 to 35 years, and removing and reinstalling them can be costly if you need to replace your roof. If your roof needs maintenance soon, you should complete it before you finish your solar installation. Sunvault team can help you evaluate the remaining lift of your roof and suitability of going solar on existing roof or with a roof replacement.
Can I go off-grid with solar panels?
When you install solar panels on your property, you will still be connected to the grid. This allows you to draw from the grid when your system is not producing all the power you need and send power back to the grid when you produce more than you use. It is possible to go off the grid with a solar energy system that includes battery storage. Still, it will cost significantly more and is unnecessary for most homeowners.
Will I still receive an electric bill if I have solar panels?
Unless you are fully off the grid, you will still receive a bill from your utility. However, you can dramatically reduce your bill with a solar and battery storage panel system that matches your energy use.
Is my roof suitable for solar panels?
South-facing (followed by West and East facing) roofs with little to no shade and enough space to fit a solar panel system are ideal for installing solar. Sunvault team has installed solar systems on almost all roof surfaces like shingles, tiles, TPO/tar gravel, and metal roofs.
